In this article 3 sections 1. [Tell us about your business](#content-tell-us-about-your-business)
2. [Choose the organisations to follow](#content-choose-the-organisations-to-follow)
3. [Read your first brief](#content-read-your-first-brief)

Start with who you serve, what matters this quarter and which organisations you want to follow. That gives Clarveni the context for a useful first brief.

Describe your customers, what sets your offer apart and what you’re working towards. Clarveni uses this to judge which developments matter to you, so the same competitor announcement can lead to different recommendations for different businesses.

Say how each one relates to your business: competitor, partner, customer, supplier, prospect, investor or adjacent business. A partner’s expansion may give you a new way to reach customers. The same move from a competitor may need a different response.

Once you’ve set your priorities and chosen the organisations to follow, Clarveni reviews available news and business information for them, and finds and checks public pricing, changelog and roadmap pages for them. You can add pages yourself. After setup, your dashboard shows when your first brief is ready and the date of the next weekly edition.

Your first brief brings the important developments together, explains what they mean for your business and suggests what to do next. Each main development links to its sources in Clarveni. Each news source shows a date where one is available, usually when it was reported; some dates are when the article was found, so check the source when timing matters.

The archive grows as new briefs arrive. You can look back at what was known and recommended when an earlier brief was written.
