A quiet brief can be useful. If the developments reviewed don’t call for a response, the team can carry on with its current work. First, check what was covered and whether any missing information needs a closer look.

A quiet-week Clarveni brief stays short and says how many of your selected sources were checked. A useful quiet-week review then answers four questions.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Check how many of your selected sources the brief says were checked, and whether the organisations that matter to this decision are among those you follow. That lets the team judge whether the evidence is enough to support carrying on as planned.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some changes don’t affect the current plan. A wording change, an announcement outside your market or a repeated story may need no action.

If you decide to leave something aside, put the reason in your meeting notes. You can come back to it if the situation changes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

An earlier development may help explain the next one. Keeping it in the archive gives the team something to return to when more information arrives.

[\#](#content-what-needs-another-source "Permalink")What needs another source?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes a public page is unavailable or an organisation doesn’t publish the detail you need. If a source could not be checked, that is a gap, not proof that nothing changed, so decide whether to look elsewhere.

If a competitor publishes no pricing, the answer is *not published*. You still don’t know whether its prices have changed.

Use the brief to ask:

1. Did the brief cover the organisations that matter to this decision?
2. Have our priorities changed since the last review?
3. Is there a development worth returning to next week?
4. Do we need another source to answer an open question?
5. Is there an action worth assigning now?

“No action this week” is a useful conclusion when the evidence supports it.
