How Clarveni handles your data

What you share with Clarveni, who can see your briefs and how to manage access and recipients.

Clarveni uses your business context to make a weekly brief relevant to the decisions you’re facing. Your priorities, relationships and briefs are kept separate from other customers’ accounts. Producing the brief also involves external AI services, and authorised Clarveni operators have access to support and run the service.

Here’s what to know when setting up your account and choosing who receives the brief.

#What you share with Clarveni

You tell Clarveni about the business being briefed: what it offers, the customers it serves, its market and its current priorities. You also choose the audience, set the questions the brief should help answer, and add the organisations you want to follow.

How you describe those organisations matters. A supplier’s expansion may raise different questions from a competitor’s expansion. Clarveni uses the relationship you choose when assessing a development.

A short, useful description is enough to start. For example, “We sell to mid-market finance teams and want to improve renewal rates” gives the brief a clearer purpose than a broad instruction to follow the market. You can revise that context as your priorities change.

Account information also includes the people with access, email recipients, briefing settings and the feedback or notes people add in Clarveni.

#What comes from outside your account

Clarveni gathers business information and news through external data services. This can include people acting in a professional capacity, such as a leader’s role or employer. Clarveni also finds and checks public pricing, changelog and roadmap pages for the companies you follow, and any pages you add.

The same external fact may be relevant to several customers. A published product announcement, for example, can inform more than one brief. Your view of that announcement, the priorities used to assess it and the resulting brief belong to your account.

Source information can be incomplete or out of date. How Clarveni checks evidence explains the dates, source links and gaps to look for when reading a recommendation.

#Who can open a brief in Clarveni

Access follows your account and team permissions. Account owners and administrators can access the account’s brands. Other members see the brands assigned to their teams. Readers can view those briefs; editors can also change the briefing configuration.

These permissions apply to people who sign in to Clarveni. The links in a brief email work differently: each one opens a read-only copy of that brief and its sources, without signing in. An email address on the recipient list does not, by itself, grant access to the account.

Authorised Clarveni operators have separate tools for supporting accounts, inspecting briefs and investigating delivery problems.

#Email recipients need a separate check

You can send a brief to someone who doesn’t have a Clarveni login. That is useful for a colleague who only needs the weekly email, so check that everyone on the recipient list should see what’s in it.

The email contains the brief itself. Choose recipients who should see both the developments and your business’s interpretation of them.

The links in a brief work for whoever holds the email, including someone it was forwarded to. Removing a recipient, or their unsubscribing, stops their links opening the brief, but cannot take back a copy that has already reached someone’s inbox.

Every brief includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops that address receiving briefs for that business. Subscriptions for other businesses are separate. Re-adding the same address or changing team membership does not silently reverse that choice.

#How service providers are involved

External AI services process selected developments and relevant business context to assess relevance and write the brief. That context can include your positioning, priorities and decision questions, along with relevant earlier assessments. How Clarveni uses AI explains that process and the review controls available to your team.

Clarveni’s application never asks for a card number in its own forms. Where you pay by card, you enter the details with our payment provider. Founding customers are invoiced, and the invoice sets out how to pay.

#What you can change or ask us about

Keep your briefing context and team access current, and check the email recipients when people join, leave or change roles. You can also choose review before send for future briefs if a colleague should approve them before they go out.

For questions about account data, access, export or deletion, contact [email protected]. Unsubscribing from an email is separate from an account-data request. If your organisation needs particular processing terms or a retention arrangement, discuss those with us before adding information that depends on them.
